That's... a very good question. I think the best kind are the ones who are willing to work within teams and other teams- I think Kyr is a much lighter game on the grand scheme of things, despite its plot, and so outright evil or awful characters don't necessarily work so well. People who are willing to work together in a team! Friendlier people who will talk to lots of people off-team, maybe. And inquisitive people who would get involved! But keep in mind these are just my personal thoughts and different things work for everyone.

MY LIST OF CHARACTERS IS SO TINY I don't even know............I mean my default character would be Shirayuki but I would feel bad inflicting her upon anymore teams. She's the one I would know I can make things work with, anyone else would be a toss-up since I've only played a grand total of 4 teamnesia characters. I HAVE NO VARIETY I DON'T KNOW cries

uhm...maybe Machika because I miss her, but she is codependent so it would be tricky to handle. Or maybe book thief OC but I am too lazy to OC ever. I would be a little tempted to try Zen but I have been playing Shirayuki for so long it's hard to imagine playing him?! I can't even think of anyone else how do I play characters besides Shirayuki

His name is Julian and he is a 15 year old little tsundere orphan child who is really obsessed with books!! And he travels around the continent collecting rare books and stashing them in his secret hideout and sometimes doing a noble's dirty work. He can put on a friendly charismatic act if it means he gets a book out of it but otherwise he is like a hissy cat trying to escape all of the people who try to friendship too hard at him.

Alternatively when he is 18 he has mellowed out more and has accepted that friendship happens and adopts a tiny mage child and fusses like a mother hen. He is kind of a cute failure at everything but he tries really hard to be independent '-'b

ok tell me about Nightingale's world then, I only know vague snippets from plurks

Okay, Nightingale's world is basically- Take SNES-era JRPGs, the ones that were always set in medieval high fantasy (I specifically was thinking Final Fantasies 4-6, with a healthy dash of the Secret of Mana and Chrono Trigger), mash them all together to create a verse, and then fast-forward it a thousand years or so until it takes place in roughly the modern day.

At this point, I also start pulling from MMOs a bit, because by this point, everyone can learn to be one of the classes, so people just have to deal with the world being made of adventurers.

Unfortunately, Nightingale (or rather Aiya, her real name) is just sort of there, and due to finally breaking under immense pressure, she's a college dropout who can't get a job, and because she's a black mage she can't even support herself with adventuring- there's so many different ways to deal damage no one cares.

There's also four sapient races in the world- Humans, elves, Beast Tribe, and merfolk. Humans are standard fantasy humans, whose main advantage over the others are they build things and make lots of connections. Beast Tribe are people with animal features, who have lost enough wars against humans they've basically completely assimilated into the human culture. Elves are split into two factions, wood elves who are huge racist assholes who eschew all technology and just murder anyone who goes into their forests, and city elves, who integrate into society with everyone else.

Merfolk only first were discovered like thirty years ago, tops, so no one really knows what the fuck is up with them.

The story is about Aiya and her adventuring party for the most part. Aiya is their black mage, planner, and throughout most of their time together, was the very stiff class rep-type who tried to keep the others in line. Yura is Aiya's childhood friend, a very relaxed and easygoing catgirl white mage who is the party's leader. Araj is an elf they met in junior high, very shy and withdrawn but fucking loves technology and gets so excited by it- she is their party's ranger. And Cove, an ojou-type mergirl who they met in college, always serious and refuses to admit to ignorance on any topic, no matter how implausible, and is a warrior.

Though it's set in RPG fantasy world in the modern era, the RPG setting is really more of a backdrop- they go on dungeon adventures sometimes, for example, but the story is really about all of them having huge stupid crushes on all of the others at various points in their lives, and me deciding if I should just go for the fucking harem end or do the originally planned pairings.
