Trivneg: Getting rejected from college. Twice.
Aiya is still in high school at this memory, but recently, her parents have been pushing her to apply to colleges. She knows she should, but at the same time, she's slightly nervous about it- The colleges her parents are trying to make her apply to are ones she isn't even sure she wants to attend. Still, to placate them, she sends out applications to a few of them, hoping to get enough back to have a good choice of where she could decide to go.
The memory jumps a couple of months, and returning home from school, she finds a couple of envelopes addressed to her on the table- Replies from the colleges she had applied to. She hesitantly opens the envelopes, and finds the same thing in both- a simple form letter saying they regrettably can't accept her application.
Aiya isn't sure how to feel about this. Her grades so far are perfect, aren't they? Even if those are prestigious colleges, shouldn't one of them accept her? What had she done wrong for this? Her parents will be so upset with her... Maybe they could tell she didn't really want to attend? She was worried about leaving Yura and Araj behind, after all, but even so... Maybe she should have wanted it more? If she had written something better in the application, surely then she could have...
She has no idea what went wrong, but she's absolutely certain it's her fault, and doesn't know what to do about it. Even if it's something she didn't really want, it's another failure.
Effects: tendency to self-blame for the most impossible stupid shit slightly boosted back up again, sorry guys
