Trivpos: Student council
It's lunchtime, and Aiya, Yura, and Araj are all sitting in the high school classroom, with their desks pushed together so all of them can eat there. As usual, Aiya has brought an elaborate meal she made herself- Taurus beef and rukh egg over rice- while Araj has a simpler meal, and Yura has something store-bought, and is sneaking bites of the other two's meals.
It's Araj who first brings up the subject, asking Aiya if she intends to run for student council. It seems like a given she would, Araj says, and she would do a very good job, but she's not made any mention of it yet.
Aiya chews on her food thoughtfully for a minute before answering. Her parents do want her to, and it would look good on a resume, she admits, but she's been thinking she shouldn't.
Yura nearly falls out of her chair in shock, while Araj looks at her in surprise as well. Is it really that surprising? Aiya wonders to herself, as the two regain their composure. Araj finally asks, why not?
Well, because... Aiya fiddles with her food with her fork. She can feel herself blush slightly and can't bring herself to meet the others' eyes when she finally answers. Because, she's already class president, and top of the school on top of that... With all the responsibilities and studies she already has, she doesn't get to spend enough time wiht the two of them as it is. If she got into the student council on top of that, their chances to be together would be even fewer...
But, Araj says softly, didn’t you say your parents want you to? Yura nods and chimes in- is it okay for her to disagree with them like that? The two of them know how much she values making her parents happy.
It’s okay, Aiya smiles gently at her friends. She's still embarrassed so she can't make eye contact, but she has to try to comfort them. After all, she continues, her grades are still at the very top, so they have no reason to complain… And her time with the two of them are more important to her. She’s happier being with them than doing anything else.
She can feel her blush spreading, but she does mean it. Her parents are important, but so are Araj and Yura. She wants to spend time and be happy with the three of them, no matter what she has to do for it.
