Trivneu: Elementary school- hiding from parents at Yura's house
Aiya is curled up, sitting on her friend's bed with her face in her knees. She's young again in this memory- still in elementary school. Yura is sitting nearby at her desk chair- a spinning chair, which she is spinning in. A lot. The room is white and pastel colors, full of various things- stuffed animals and toys, photographs and books, knives and armor. Anything that caught Yura's attention ended up on a shelf. Even on her desk, despite their age, Yura had a lightly humming desktop computer.
Aiya admires that about Yura, the way she just has so much interest in everything, deciding she could have whatever she wanted, always seeming happy with things. But now...
Her parents didn't want her to be around Yura anymore, she finally manages to say. They think she's a bad influence.
Yura's spinning slows, and for maybe the first time, Aiya sees her smile slip. Why? is all she can ask.
They think she's irresponsible, Aiya managed to say, barely choking out the words. Just because she's Beast Tribe. They think she'll make Aiya irresponsible too, and they think she shouldn't meet her anymore...
Yura's tail twitches, and the spinning stops. She smiles again, but it's a sad one. Then, maybe she should stop? she suggests. Aiya wants to make her parents happy, so if that's better for her...
Aiya shakes her head forcefully, jumping up to hug Yura, clinging tightly. She doesn't want to stop seeing her, they're friends, and she loves her. Her eyes sting as she tries to hold back tears- She told them she definitely wouldn't, she would never stop being friends with Yura. There is a pit in her stomach as she explains, as she's terrified of arguing with her parents, but she did anyway. And then...
And then? Yura asks gently, trying to comfort her even as Aiya was on top of her.
... She ran away, Aiya admits. She got upset and ran away and came here. Yura giggles and hugs her back, petting her hair. Aiya is still scared and upset, but she is more certain than ever she made the right choice in standing up to her parents.
