what are nightingale and citrine's happiest memories both in canon and in kyr?

nightingale -> natalie: she is so ridiculously in love it's terrible. at this point she would do literally anything for her. like she's basically a lovestruck puppy. she also feels really weird and awkward about the age difference (which is even more complicated with that shit i mentioned on plurk) and worries a lot about what will happen after kyr, but the fact that natalie would want to come home with her and just. trusts her that much and would be willing to. means so much to her. basically there is absolute 100% love and trust and everything.

citrine -> natalie: hahahahahaha complicated. It's basically sisterly love and so much dere, but also... she knows natalie is not as okay with violence as most of the rest of the team. and since she's a knight, it's a little awkward. and on top of that... it's the human vs. mixed-blood thing. So she loves and would trust natalie with her life, but at the same time, she has trouble talking to her sometimes, and she will front endlessly about her feelings. And, like with basically every human, she's a little bit afraid.

nightingale's happiest memory in canon is... complicated as fuck. Probably her and Yura making out on full moons' night because it was literally the only point in her entire life she was able to put aside the pressure and responsibility and everything and just do what she wanted. which was make out with her hot friend. but then she feels so guilty and awkward about it after the fact. it was the best memory at the time but complicated afterwards...

in kyr it's a toss-up. either breaking rotten's attempted murder game, bluebird telling her her real name, or natalie asking her out, tbh

citrine's happiest canon memory is when she received her sword! it was a birthday present and it was just. so full of all of her hopes and dreams and she was sure she was going to have an amazing time and an amazing life and be awesome forever and nothing bad would happen.

in kyr it's uh.

NIGHTINGALE LOEV LITTLE SISTER

Okay I am sure I've hashed this through before but. Aiya never had any siblings. Only child. Obviously. So Takshaka as her family is.... something new and weird that she's still adjusting to. But she loves her team so much. And especially Sparrow.

Sparrow is her little sister, as far as she's concerned, and in her other games, she will half the time refer to her as such more than her teammate. Sparrow's endless faith in her and willingness to trust her and the fact that she still cares even after Nightingale continues to fuck up all make her one of the most important figures to her. And in Kyr, Sparrow was the first to believe in her. This is an important thing- When Nightingale had been suggesting an efficient but kinda evil way to do things, Sparrow told her no. Then Nightingale changed to a more Takshaka plan, but couldn't talk about it, but Sparrow agreed to trust her anyway.

She is dimly aware that she's fucked up sometimes with Sparrow! She still feels so guilty over the heart, for example. And lol, trauma prom. But she still wants to try to make it up to her. And she will utterly destroy anyone who hurts Sparrow- She will seriously port over to Sparrow's world and use gratuitous amounts of fire on Cyrus if she has to.

natalie -> nightingale: ALSO A GROSS AMOUNT OF LOVE AND AFFECTION. nightingale is one of the two people she thinks she can always count and depend on in kyr (the other being silver, since he's the only other original henwen who's still in play). the other side of that is that it's hard to think of nightingale without this persistent terror that the other shoe is going to drop and she's going to get tired of her, or grow apart from her, or leave her in a way she can't control (like going home or getting mirror dropped). without her realizing it, this is kind of leading to her subconsciously assuming they don't have a chance to soften the blow if something like that does happen. she wasn't lying when she said she hopes she can go home with nightingale, but she's not counting on it being possible because she's 2 pessimistic 4 life, etc. it might go without saying, but she also worries about nightingale a lot - about the baggage her parents left her with, about her self esteem and self worth problems (even if she's gotten better in that regard), about her apparent willingness to die for the greater good... the list goes on.

natalie -> citrine!! ALSO COMPLICATED. she really, really likes citrine, but she's still in the stage with her where she's afraid to fully open up to her. she reminds her a little of aventurine, and unfortunately that means natalie projects a little - she's afraid of trusting and depending on citrine too much because she reminds her a lot of a person who's left her not once, but twice. she's pretty afraid, again, that if she lets herself get close to citrine that she'll leave. she also thinks citrine is a much better person than she is, so she's scared that one day citrine is going to realize that's true and hate her. oops.

tl;dr natalie is still terrified of interpersonal relationships and emotional closeness

OKAY NOW FAVORITE MEMORIES. in kyr it's probably getting together with nightingale or aventurine coming back from echo!napping (though that's pretty soured by the fact that she got mirror dropped shortly afterwards, it was really happy at the time). as for canon, i'm gonna say henry reassuring her that he won't leave her no matter what happens while they're at a school dance, because he's the first person who had ever said something like that to her and it was incredibly ~*~romantic and meaningful.

i thought of a return question and then completely forgot to put it in, smh self!! ANYWAYS, the ideal character development you'd get to have for nightingale and citrine!

Citrine loves Ochre a lot! Nothing has really changed since I last went in-depth on it in plurk, though. She is more honest with him than basically anyone else, and fears him least out of any human.

like, on one hand, she really loves having an adult around. especially one who she can feel less guilty about getting her terrible sex shards. even if that is a little awkward. she doesn't feel awkward at all around daisy like she used to, and she just really wants the cute elf to be happy. she's rooting for you, daisy! go kiss all the pretty girls, you can do it.

daisy still isn't as close to her as some other tak members, but that's mostly a matter of time, and she has nothing but good feelings anymore.

CONFIDENCE for both of them, really.

Like, Nightingale is honestly pretty close to what I want. Right now, she's learning how to have confidence in herself. She is still working with the idea of being able to be loved and it's doing wonders for her. I don't have any more specific ideas in store past 'more in this direction'. Letting her start to believe in her own strength and abilities would be nice, though! But that would take actually being able to accomplish something important with cleverness or magic.

Citrine, I'd like to have some kind of development where she is comfortable and able to assert that she is human, and for her to stop being scared of people who aren't animalpeople! Literally nothing can knock the justice out of her, though, so I'm not worried about that. But something that could bring it more like... to the forefront? Less saying "I'M A KNIGHT" and more... doing stuff with it. But that's so reliant on my own energy levels it's hard.

SO HOW IS NATALIE FEELING ABOUT GOING BACK TO NIGHTINGALE'S WORLD, especially as nightingale lives with yura still. give me the details. 8D

i mentioned before that she's not quite letting herself believe it'll actually happen, but if it did happen - she'd be overjoyed but super nervous, honestly, just because their worlds are so different. what if she can't get over the culture shock, what if she doesn't fit in, what if nobody likes her, etc etc!! she's also concerned about living arrangements, especially since nightingale is currently living with yura. she's very "oh god this is going to be super awkward for all of us isn't it".
