Okay, yeah, as someone with maybe half a soul right now, I can see why that's a bad idea. I want to keep the bit I've managed to regain, thanks...

Isn't it? [gonna brag about friend while being fused with her nbd this shouldn't embarrass anybody] I've spent my life researching Shepherd legends but Lailah's shown all of us so much more. She really knows her stuff. It's been a dream having her with me; I mean, I didn't even intend to be a Shepherd until I met her but she was really incredible, and she's still incredible, obviously.

But I'm actually siding with Sorey on this one, your flames seem pretty damn amazing. All I can do with fire is straight-on attack magic.

Lailah can do anything with fire, since it's a part of her. Ooh- there was this one time, [Sorey drops his hands from his cheeks and leans forward conspiratorially, grinning,] where it was cold and we needed a campfire, and I couldn't get my flint to light because it was wet so she just walked by and, [he snaps his fingers to demonstrate.] And the flames were shaped like a phoenix, which was so cool. That was when we first started traveling together and I was all depressed and quiet, so she showed off a little to try and cheer me up.

[He pauses and presses a hand to his chest gratefully.] Which, I never thanked you for, I don't think. So thank you.

You don't have to thank me, Sorey. It was enough to see that it worked to cheer you up a bit.

But even purely offensive fire magic can be applied in creative ways! So, I'm sure that yours are just as impressive, Nightingale.

Not as far as I know, anyway. I did figure out that new technique during our fight, I need to figure out those now that I can move again.

[she wants to ask if Sorey felt anything special about her last attack, but even she knows that would be horrible.]

I don't mind sparring with you, if you need a partner. It'll probably be easier to figure it out if you're fighting against someone.
