[okay, well, he KNOWS mikleo can't really help with this, so maybe if he tells her more she'll agree to keep it secret?]
...there's a reason I was just curious.
I want to see if it's possible to release a seraphim from their sublord pact. Unfortunately, the pacts are made through Lailah, my Prime Lord, but she's not here. As far as I know she's the only one who can break that contract, but I know almost next to nothing about how the Shepard contract works. She's supposed to guide me through that.
I have a teammate who once explained polygamy to me in between attempts to concuss me. I'm not sure how polygamous marriage works, but this sounds close. Are you having relationship trouble or something?
It's really not like that at all. [For one thing it's about a katrillion times more complicated] If you don't know of anything that'll work, then that's fine. [it's really not] I'm just looking around at different options.
I didn't say I don't know of anything that would work. If nothing else, if there's a connection of mana between you, I can try to draw it off and attach it to someone else? I've never tried with living things, though, mostly it's just to repair mana pathways in structures. But I want to know why I would be doing this.
[whoa whoa ok what connect it to someone else????? would that even WORK? he'd have to find someone else really pure to make sure it's safe and he...can't do that....without a seraph.............. heck]
In the case that'd be necessary...I guess it would have to happen if I ever started to generate malevolence. Back home if that happened Lailah could just sever the contracts, but I've been here so long...I want to make sure there's something that can save them in case I'm not fit to be their vessel anymore.
The magical effect has to be connected to you somehow, I just have to look for the flow of mana. And you have a skull I can punch. Anyway, I have a solution, but I want to hit you for missing it first.
[Sorey's got a pretty hard head and he was expecting it, but the knock still smarts like Gramps had just shown up and clobbered Sorey for disobeying him again. Sorey hisses and rubs his head, flinching away from her with every twitch of her staff.
His once pure and clean domain has clouded, murky with doubt and unease. While not quite at the point of generating evil, it's absolutely clear to anyone who can sense it that something is dreadfully wrong.]
Ow... Nightingale, you didn't have to hit me that hard.
[Sorey's heart sinks. Is it just obvious in his face? ...no, he's just being purposefully dense if he thinks that. It must be true, then. He'd just thought he was stressed and it would go away, but if Nightingale can tell just by looking at him...
At least it's not so bad that the seraphim have noticed. They'd come after him in a second if they could feel any malevolence from him.]
You can tell? [Sorey sinks down to sit on the grass, rubbing his face.] I was hoping it was just an illness or something...
It's... not like I can tell? It just feels like... I dunno, the atmosphere is a little different? Maybe you just seem upset...?
[Due to Nightingale's life, she's become somewhat... hyperaware of when people are upset. It was an unfortunate survival tactic for her, since her parents' moods controlled her entire life. She second-guesses herself constantly, but someone being obviously upset has her on edge automatically, even if she isn't conscious of the exact signs herself.]

Also, I kind of want to pull a Magpie and club you in the head once or twice for this.

There's only a few places you can be.
I'll find you before long.
If nothing else, I can ask Mikleo for help finding you.

I'm on the Iskaulit, in the gardens.

I'm a strategist.
Plans and strategies are what I do.
So don't go anywhere.
[That said, she's showing up in the gardens after a few minutes.
And, as she stated, she's swinging her staff for his damn skull.]

[she can see your HP, gosh. ... she can also see that something's not right with him, now. She can't tell what, exactly, but...]
What... What happened to you?
