Sigpos: Meeting Yura Obtained: Day 34 Sepsis, quiz
You're in third grade now, currently working on a test. You feel proud, writing down all the answers without taking much time to think- You know it all by heart. Your parents are going to be proud of you.
But out of the corner of your eye, you notice something else- White hair and cat ears. The girl next to you, a tan Beast Tribe girl who you've never spoken to before, is leaning over to peek at your sheet. You automatically shift to try to cover your paper, but the girl gives you such a pleading look... The guilt overwhelms you. It can't be that bad to help someone, right? You slide your paper back over so she can see. She seemed so desperate before, but her face lights up with a bright smile when you do that... That's the first time you've ever seen anyone make a face like that at you.
The test ends, the day passes, and school soon lets out. As you pick up your backpack to go home, you suddenly feel an impact from behind, and jump in panic, trying to break away. Spinning around, you realize... It's the girl from earlier, her tail swishing back and forth happily. She had just been hugging you? That was weird.
"Thanks for earlier! You really saved me." She says with a big smile, apparently not caring about the location, causing you to flail your arms a little and squirm.
"Ahh, please don't mention it!" You manage to stammer out. "We- We shouldn't talk about that at school, anyway!"
She shrugs, and continues on with a big grin. "My name's Yura! What's yours?"
"I'm Aiya. It's nice to meet you." You say, curtsying politely. She ignores the curtsy, looking at you like you did something weird, and you feel your face flush.
Still, you talk for a few minutes- She's so energetic, it's more like she talks and you just get pulled into her pace. But she keeps talking about things like popular TV shows, or interesting new games, and you just can't keep up.
Eventually, she notices, getting right up close to look you in the eyes. "Don't you know any of this?" She asks. "This is the really popular stuff..."
You shake your head. "... All I ever do is study." You admit. You don't know why, since that's always been enough for you before, but for some reason, this seems shameful now...
"Eh? But don't you do things with your friends?" Yura seems genuinely concerned now, and you can only hang your head.
"... I don't have any friends." You can't look at her now. "My parents think studying and doing well in school is more important, so... I can't watch TV or play games or anything. I can't be friends with anyone, either..."
"Well, then it's settled!" Yura is suddenly draping an arm around your shoulder, pulling you into a hug again. "I'll be your friend, and I'll teach you about all the fun things and cool games, and I won't let your parents say no!"
You don't know what to say. You're embarrassed, and worried, and confused by someone going so far for you... But you're happy, more than any of those. You finally have a friend.
