[sobering up a lot as he sits up, his gaze turning concerned]

To begin with, I guess... If you were planning on coming back any time soon, don't. Everything's gone to hell. The castle's gone.

[raises both eyebrows]

... Nyssa took over.

She ran a game, and when it ended, the castle was gone. Everyone's stuck in what I guess has to be her realm now.

So who all has started plannin' an assassination?

.. Sparrow died. She's back, but the revival was...

[glances at bluebird. you remember her botched revival, don't you.]

... A few others died. Some more got injured. She took control of the entire Cats team, they were the ones killing people for her. Vanara was-

[her voice catches and she goes quiet for a moment.]

... No one's had time yet.

[takes a few deep breathes in an attempt to calm himself, but the boiling rage bubbling within him is still visible in his furrowed brows, his narrowed eyes. . .]

[it's almost enough to make him want to go back and stab her in the face himself]

Heavy stuff. . .

The visit can serve more'n one purpose.

[raises both eyebrow at her, confused]

... We played on Amalthea. It wasn't much, but still.

. . . [continues to stare at her with raised eyebrows, but now his expression is sort of asking her to elaborate]

Do you remember that game of Nyssa's with the cards? Where we ended up with negative seventy-two points?

Did she run an encore?

[nods]

The cards were... much, much worse. And if you ended up below zero at the end...

[trails off, voice cracking slightly, as she looks away]

We were all fighting about who we could hit- the only cards we had left in our hand were mostly things like 'lose a limb' or 'slow kill'. We eventually threw a coin for Amalthea or Ometotchtli for a two-point 'physical deage'. It landed on Amalthea.

[technically magpie's glasses but that's like a coin]

No. But we had to play something.

Then why Amalthea?

We had promises with Henwen and Tiamat. We had played on Vanara in the round before. Gulgallana had been our first idea for a target, but they had lost people and maimed and we were worried about putting them below zero. Same for Rataoskr. Dawon has people from Magpie and Gull's homes. Amalthea had someone else from Gull's world too. Epona and Alectryon had people from Roc's homeworld. Barghest looked to be in awful shape too, and Sparrow didn't want to play on Ometotchtli, but it was down to them or Amalthea.

We ran out of time and couldn't argue any more, so Magpie tossed the coin for it.

[. . . hmph. he leans back, hands linked behind his head]

I guess I ain't a good person. I would have put Gulgallana below zero before I would've hit an ally team.
