Neuneu: It's disrespectful to them.
Regained: Day 134
Songbird, rose maze

This is a young memory, back when Aiya is in sixth grade.

You're sitting at home at the dinner table. Your backpack is stowed nearby, where it belongs, but at your parents' questioning, you get it out. You said you got a test back today, after all, and your parents want to see it. And with some anxiety, you put it down on the table for them to see, with the large red '95' written at the top, and a small 'good job!' written next to it in neat writing.

Your parents, however, look disappointed. As you expected they would.

"What happened?" They ask, with concern in their voices, and you feel guilty for causing that.

"I got mixed up and forgot the order." You admit. It was a geography test, which you have trouble with, and about far-off foreign countries on top of that. The The country of Cycaedia, and their capital of Cypricwm... You ended up mixing them up and putting them down backwards. That was the only question you got wrong, but...

"You should be able to get a hundred percent as a matter of course, Aiya." Her mother says firmly.

"I know. I'm sorry." You keep your head lowered, afraid to look up in case you might start crying.

Your father gently places a hand on your shoulder, and speaks in a more comforting tone.

"Aiya, your teachers are very important people who are doing their best to teach you. You understand, right?" You nod. "So, since they're doing their best, you have to do the same. If you're being taught, you have to remember what they teach you, or else it's disrespectful to them. Because they're teaching you, you should be able to get a hundred percent as a matter of course. Anything less is rude."

You nod, burning this into your memory. It's rude to the teachers to get less than a perfect score. It's rude to your parents, who know you can do better. You have to do your best- If you're less than perfect, it's rude, and if you're rude, everyone will be mad at you, right? So you have to be.
